This is a short post about animal rights in a small Spanish town.

A few days ago news magazines started to report about the Spanish town Trigueros Del Valle and its council's decision to define pets as "non-human residents" which in this case means these animals will have rights.

Pedro Pérez Espinosa, the mayor of Trigueros Del Valle, said: "Dogs and cats have been living among us for over a thousand years, and the mayor must represent not just the human residents but must also be here for the others".
